Alright, so today, we'll discuss Luca's journey with Unger Academy, and the path he took to become our Trader of the Month. So, Luca, tell us a bit about yourself, your career, and what you do in life.
Luca
Well, I'm a mechanical engineer by profession. I work for a multinational company, heading the research and development department.
Chelsi
Okay, research and development.
Luca
And I've been dabbling in trading for about a decade now, mostly discretionary trading.
Chelsi
Ah, okay, yes. As many start out.
Luca
Exactly, like many.
The challenges he faced before discovering our Method
Chelsi
Right. And what challenges did you face before joining our program?
Luca
Mainly with discretionary trading, the big issue was the need to constantly be in front of the screens to make trades. Given my job, that can become quite challenging, and did indeed become challenging.
And then there was the stress of continuously monitoring the screens to make entry and exit decisions. Now, at least from what I've seen in these past months, I'm hopeful that systematic trading will allow me to manage my time better and let the program do almost everything automatically.
Why he chose Unger Academy
Chelsi
What motivated you to choose our program over others?
Luca
Primarily, it was Andrea Unger's reputation. So, I did some research online, looked at various reviews, focusing not just on the positives but especially the negatives.
Some of the negatives didn’t really make sense regarding the complaints they had about the program, so I decided to trust Unger, especially because he hasn’t just won the World Championship once; the persistence to keep winning is tough, and he has excelled at it.
The part of our program that helped him the most
Chelsi
Yes, that’s also a great example of perseverance. Now, was there a particular aspect of our program that helped you significantly?
Luca
Yes, especially two modules, if I recall correctly, M5 and M6, which are about the science of position sizing and managing a portfolio of strategies. I already knew a bit, but the management and methodology Andrea uses were really helpful.
The results Luca has achieved
Chelsi
Excellent, excellent. And since implementing what you've learned, what results have you achieved?
Luca
For now, knock on wood, it's all going well, especially with the support of my coach, Marco, who has been invaluable in clarifying my doubts.
Since going live in December, I've been performing at about 85%, which is fantastic. And in February, I won with a 45% performance, so for now, I definitely can't complain.
How his life has changed with automated trading
Chelsi
Great, congrats! And how has your life changed after achieving these results, both financially and in terms of awareness?
Luca
Financially, not much yet, as I've only been live for a few months and started with relatively small volumes to test everything out. So, nothing yet, but do I hope to improve if I continue this way.

Ah wow. And where do you think you’d be now if you hadn't decided to join our program?
Luca
Ah, I probably would have quit trading altogether because discretionary trading was very stressful. Actually, in the past, I've taken breaks because it was too hard to keep up consistently.
Chelsi
I can imagine, especially being an R&D manager and engineer, all the stress from work itself.
Luca
Yes, adding that to the trading stress was just too much.
His advice to all aspiring traders
Chelsi
Okay. Finally, what would you say to anyone watching this interview who might be considering whether to join the program or not?
Luca
If they’re considering it, I’d advise them to do their homework as I did. But definitely, the methodology that Andrea teaches in the program, which is very well-structured and detailed in some parts, is very helpful. If you have doubts, overcome them because the program is truly valuable.
